Many writers are secretly using the dictation software DragonDictate for creative writing these days – even if they don’t admit it.
So does it work? Even though it’s early days for dictation software technology, it’s pretty remarkable – it even copes well with my Scottish accent.
I think it’s a game-changer, but I have a few reservations. What about the quality of the writing? How does a speech-based writing method affect it? Does it just mean simply transferring the hard work of thinking to the editing stage?
